Aluminum Trough for Emulsion Application

The ergonomic aluminum trough is a crucial tool for the proper application of emulsion, allowing for an even, smooth layer of emulsion on the screen printing mesh.

The aluminum trough is extremely lightweight, making application easy and cleaning effortless. It is made of durable aluminum alloy AL6061T6 with plastic guides at the end. The double edge design (thick and thin) allows for a thicker or thinner layer of emulsion to be applied to the printing mesh. The sharp edge is intended for a thinner application on the screen printing mesh, while the rounded edge allows for a thicker layer of emulsion. During use, the trough can easily be placed on a flat surface without tipping over and causing an emulsion spill.

The part of the trough (that is in contact with the mesh during emulsion application) is protected with a rubber cover that can be easily removed before use and reattached after the application is complete.

SCREENCOAT 3D EMULSION

SCREENCOAT 3D NEW FOR HIGH THICKNESS PRINTING KG.1

Screencoat 3D Emulsion for high-thickness printing with exceptional precision and the ability to print fine details.

Suitable for: plastisol, UV, and solvent-based inks.

To achieve the desired thickness, you need to choose the right mesh and product that will allow excellent ‘edges’ and a relief effect (high deposit).

Screencoat 3D gives the best results when used considering the following parameters (assessment of the finest detail in the graphic):

We recommend that you pay very close attention to the graphics, as you will not be able to print details that are smaller than the thickness of the emulsion. Rule: The thickness of the thinnest line you want to print, multiplied by 3, represents the thickness of the emulsion you need to achieve.

QUICK USER GUIDE:

For best results, we recommend using red-orange light (inactinic light) and the following procedure:

1. Use a coarse mesh screen

2. The mesh should be stretched evenly and tightly

3. Apply the emulsion slowly, pressing evenly on the mesh.

4. Apply two strokes on the printing side and two strokes on the squeegee side, then dry at 35 degrees for 20-30 minutes.

5. Apply two thick layers on the printing side.

6. Apply the final layer very slowly and evenly, without pressing too much. This will give you an even layer of emulsion for finishing.

7. Dry at 34-40 degrees until the entire emulsion is completely dry – or at least 3 to 4 hours.

The table below shows the reference values for exposing a white mesh with a 5000 Watt halogen lamp with a thick-layer emulsion applied (Screencoat 3D).

Important: these are only approximate values that can assist you with lighting, which depends on many factors (mesh color, thread density, distance from the light source, light source intensity, etc.).

EMULSION SCREENCOAT WHD

Versatile and highly durable liquid photo emulsion for screen printing with water-based, plastisol, UV, and solvent-based inks.

A universal emulsion that ensures good durability against both chemical and mechanical stress.

It is a two-component emulsion with a hardener, which increases the durability of the emulsion for larger print runs.

Screencoat WHD emulsion does not contain any chemicals that would require registration with the Chemicals Office.

PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Shake the hardener (diazo) into a tightly sealable container.

2. Add 50 grams of distilled water and mix well – stir for a few minutes.

3. Let it stand for 15 minutes to release air bubbles.

4. Mix into the emulsion and let it stand for one to two hours, preferably longer.

5. Then apply the prepared emulsion to the screen.

6. The Screencoat WHD emulsion can be used repeatedly without problems, it is only important to store it properly after use (dark place and well-sealed container). We recommend stirring it well before reuse.

APPLICATION OF SCREENCOAT WHD EMULSION:

1. Apply the emulsion in a dark room – darkroom.

2. The screen must be pre-cleaned, degreased, and dry (see cleanerStripcoat 110 and Deterstrip 110).

3. Two even strokes along the side of the screen that will be in contact with the print.

4. Two even strokes along the side of the screen where the ink will be applied.

5. Dry the sensitized screen with warm air up to 40°C, 20-30 minutes in a horizontal position for printing.
The table provides only approximate values for exposing the white mesh with a 5 kW halogen lamp. We recommend adjusting the exposure time based on the mesh color, thread density, light source intensity, and the distance between the light source and the screen.

Distance light/source

120 threads/cm

90 threads/cm

77 threads/cm

62 threads/cm

55 threads/cm

43 threads/cm

100 cm

32 s

41 s

48 s

55 s

65 s

80 s

120 cm

45 s

58 s

68 s

80 s

92 s

115 s

Advice: For yellow mesh, extend the time by 25 – 30% compared to the times in the table.

SHELF LIFE: Screencoat WHD emulsion, when mixed with hardener and stored properly in a cool place (5-10 degrees), is usable for a longer period.
